Summary 0000439: Large-scale memory allocations in C++
Description The problem: large-scale memory allocations don with malloc() may fail under Windows, even when we work in a 64-bit environment.

Solution: to implement memory allocations for large (beyond 1 MB) arrays:
* using VirtualAlloc - under Windows
* using ????? - under *nix (not investigates this behaviour under *nix, may be there is not problem with malloc under *nix).
